Bonus categories

Variable bonuses

They are tied to individual performance and can vary in amount. A good indicator of a 'variable bonus' is that only parts of it can be obtained. You would have a difference between 'Theoretical bonus' and 'Effective bonus'.

Examples include: Performance bonuses, Sales commissions.

Other bonuses

Include any bonus that isn't part of the base salary and doesn't vary. These are fixed amounts provided to employees for various purposes.

Examples include: Annual bonus, Holiday bonus, Health insurance, Pension contribution, Meal vouchers, Public transport reimbursement, Kilometric allowance, Training budget, Home office compensation, Childcare support, Car allowance, Housing assistance, End of year bonus, Gym membership, Life insurance, Sustainable Mobility allowance

Profit sharing

Profit sharing involves bonuses that are tied to the company's profits and may include various forms of profit distribution.

Examples include: Intéressement (FR), Participation (FR)

Equity

Equity compensation gives employees an ownership interest in the company. This is usually done through stock options, restricted stock, or other equity awards.

Examples include: Stock options, Restricted Stock Units (RSUs)

Setup bonuses in Figures through your HRIS integration

In Data & integrations, find your HRIS integration and click Configure' If you have a live enabled integration, you will be able to find the Remuneration items part. You have a quick access to Variable bonus to add.

You can then add any of the other bonuses exposed by your HRIS, while adding the different categories.

  • Label: Used for naming. Add anything there to make it easy for you to understand and refer to this bonus.

  • HRIS remuneration item: Used to connect with your HRIS. Find the relevant HRIS field name.

  • Associated Frequency: Used to ensure the right amount is shown. Bonuses and compensations are always shown annually in Figures, we multiple the amount depending on its frequency.

  • Bonus Type: Used to add the bonus to the right category (and benchmark). You can find examples on bonuses per categories above.

Once the custom remuneration item has been added, you should be able to see it in your employees compensation after the next sync of your HRIS with our data.
