Master compensation terminations

Salary range alignement

Salary range alignment shows how your employees' salaries compare to their salary range. It tells you what percentage of employees are:

  • Below their range: Paid less than the minimum of their salary range.

  • Within their range: Paid within their level’s salary range.

  • Above their range: Paid more than the maximum of their salary range.

This helps you see at a glance if salaries are aligned with your compensation goals.

Compa-ratio

The compa-ratio is a straightforward tool that helps you see how an employee's salary compared to the mid point of their salary range. Think of it as a way to measure whether you are paying your employees as you intend to according to your salary guidelines.

Compa-Ratio = Employee's Salary / Mid point

It's calculated by dividing the employee’s current salary by the mid point of their range. This ratio helps you see if an employee is paid below, at, or above your intended target for their role.

What do the numbers mean?

  • Compa-ratio of 1.00: The employee is paid exactly at the target.

  • Above 1.00: The employee is paid more than the target.

  • Below 1.00: The employee is paid less than the target.

Adjustment budget required

The adjustment budget required shows the total amount needed to raise all employees' salaries to the minimum of their respective salary range (excluding employer taxes). This helps you understand the financial investment needed to meet your salary targets.

Position in range

  • The pink rectangle represents the employee salary band, based on their position and seniority level, and its four quartiles.

  • The red dot represents the employee's position in the salary band.

  • In the example above:

    • The transparent dot shows the employee's previous position: the employee was previously paid at the minimum of the salary range for their profile.

    • The red dot shows the employee's new position after the salary review: the employee is now positioned at the first quartile of this salary range.

Difference between salary band and salary range

  • Salary Band: represents the ranges group of salaries for a specific job and location, segmented by levels of seniority.

  • Salary Range: refers to the salary spectrum within a salary band for a particular seniority level.

Open a band or a range:

  1. Click on the 3 dots to the right of the band you are interested in.

  2. Select whether you want to see the whole band for this job/location or whether you only want to open the range corresponding to the specific seniority level in this band.

  • Pink Box: represents the salary range. If an employee's salary falls outside this box, it indicates they are either underpaid or overpaid compared to their designated salary range.

  • Min: represents the minimum salary your employees should be paid to fit within their range.

  • Max: represents the maximum salary an employee should receive within their range to stay within the limits.

  • Midpoint: represents the salary an employee should receive to be positioned in the middle of their salary range.

These indicators help ensure fairness and consistency among employees within the same range.

Analytics

The Analytics tab dynamically adjusts based on the view selected in the 'Overview'. You can access analyses for the entire workforce or focus on a specific salary band.
