The Salary Bands module offers a seamless and secure way to manage permissions and ensure that the right people have access to the necessary compensation information.

Accessing the Sharing Center

Locate the Sharing Center: In the Salary Bands module, find the "Sharing Center" button at the top right corner. This is your control hub for managing all salary band permissions.

Managing permissions

Role-based permissions (BETA)

Role-based permissions provide a base layer of access to salary bands. Employees are automatically granted access to their own range or band, and managers to the ranges or bands of their direct reports.

This new feature works in tandem with the existing Sharing Center functionalities. Admins can still share additional salary bands as needed, offering greater control and customisation.

For a deeper understanding of how role-based permissions work on Figures, we recommend reading our dedicated article: Managing Role-Based Permissions on Figures.

Manual sharing management

  1. Selecting bands to share: Within the Sharing Center, you can multi-select the salary bands you wish to share. Click on "Share Bands" located at the top right corner.

  2. Choosing recipients: After selecting the bands, choose the Figures user you want to share the information with. Please note, to share salary bands with anyone (managers, employees, etc.), they must first be invited to Figures.

Remember, only admins on Figures can edit salary bands and their content.

Customising access levels

Fine-tuning access: In the share side panel, you can adjust the access level for your recipients. By default, they will have access only to the band information.

Granting Market Data access: Optionally, you can grant access to underlying market data. This includes both Figures and external market data, providing a comprehensive view of compensation.

Granting this permission does not allow users to access the Market Data module directly. They will only be able to view the market data as it relates to and within the confines of the Salary Bands module.

Restricting band levels: You have the option to restrict sharing to certain band levels (e.g., sharing only Individual Contributor tracks).

Reviewing access

In the Sharing Center, click the pencil icon next to a salary band to view who currently has access to it.

Visibility rules

  • Employee visibility: Employees can only see their own positions within the bands, not others.

  • Manager visibility: Managers have visibility over their direct reports and their own positions within the bands.

  • HR and Admin visibility: HR personnel and admins can view all employees within the salary bands.
