Bonus categories
Variable bonuses | They are tied to individual performance and can vary in amount. A good indicator of a 'variable bonus' is that only parts of it can be obtained. You would have a difference between 'Theoretical bonus' and 'Real bonus'. | Examples include: Performance bonuses, Sales commissions. |
Other bonuses | Include any bonus that isn't part of the base salary and doesn't vary. These are fixed amounts provided to employees for various purposes. | Examples include: Annual bonus, Holiday bonus, Health insurance, Pension contribution, Meal vouchers, Public transport reimbursement, Kilometric allowance, Training budget, Home office compensation, Childcare support, Car allowance, Housing assistance, End of year bonus, Gym membership, Life insurance, Sustainable Mobility allowance |
Profit sharing | Profit sharing involves bonuses that are tied to the company's profits and may include various forms of profit distribution. | Examples include: Intéressement (FR), Participation (FR) |
Equity | Equity compensation gives employees an ownership interest in the company. This is usually done through stock options, restricted stock, or other equity awards. | Examples include: Stock options, Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) |
